New Hampshire Auto Insurance Requirements

New Hampshire does not require their insured to carry Bodily Injury and Property Damage to coverage them in case they are found to be the driver at fault.  However, if motorists are going to get their cars financed, they find that most of these companies require that they do take out this type of insurance before they are granted the loan.

In place of the mandatory liability coverage for the at fault driver, New Hampshire requires that its motorists carry Uninsured/Underinsured coverage to protect them against hit and run damage to their vehicle, and to cover damages on their car when the driver at fault is known and does not have any or sufficient insurance to cover the cost. UM New Hampshire auto insurance also covers medical expenses as well when the at fault driver cannot cover it.

New Hampshire recommends that its motorists carry Comprehensive and Collision coverage, not only will it cover the property damage to the other car if the insured was deemed to be at fault, it will also cover damages on the insured’s car should the insured actually be the one at fault. In addition, Comprehensive and Collision coverage would also cover damage to the insured’s vehicle caused by a natural causes or contact with wildlife.
